Important information for Sarasota residents and businesses

The 12th Annual First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon & Relay Marathon begins and ends at the Van Wezel Preforming Arts Hall. With most of the course running either right next to the water or a couple of blocks from the bay, runners will always feel the breeze whether they are taking on the John Ringling Causeway inclines or enjoying the beauty of the Indian Beach & Sapphire Shores Neighborhood and its welcoming residents.

ROAD CLOSURES

The following lane reductions will take place Sunday, March 19. The race will begin at 6:45 a.m. at 10th Street and the Van Wezel Preforming Arts Hall. Runners then proceed south to go out and back over the John Ringling Causeway clearing this section by 8:15 am. All participants will be off the remaining sections of the course by 10:30 am for the reopening of the roads, however, most of the roadways will be clear before then due to the rolling reopening procedures. Roads will be managed by the City of Sarasota Police Department who will assist traffic through intersections in between gaps of runner packs.
