Join us for 13.1 miles of gorgeous beaches, and both natural and historic attractions. Our USATF-certified course is walker-friendly and also features a popular relay option, making it the perfect course for beginners and elites alike. Challenge yourself to a beautiful race in Sarasota!

Gear Check

Gear check will be available on race day at the gear check tent starting at 5:30 a.m. and will close five minutes before race start. Make sure to use the CLEAR PLASTIC BAG PROVIDED AT PACKET PICKUP. There will be additional clear bags available on race morning. Simply attach the gear check label from your race bib to the bag for identification. You must have a race bib to use gear check. Gear will be available for pickup until 11:30 a.m.

All unclaimed items at gear check will be kept at our offices for one week. After the week, all unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity. Do not give your items to any volunteers except those at gear check. Life Time Fitness is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

On-course support

The half marathon and relay will be fully supported with aid stations, police officers at intersections, course marshals to direct runners at turns, and a network of EMS resources and radio operators on the course and at the start and finish.

Aid stations
There will be water and Gatorade at all stations along the course and at the start and finish lines. All aid stations on the course will have dozens of enthusiastic volunteers and portable toilets located nearby.

Gatorade Endurance Formula will be on course at every aid station. Restrooms
Restrooms will be available at the start line, finish line, all aid stations and other locations along the course.

SAG wagon and back of the pack crew
The SAG wagon and back of the pack crew will signify the end of the field and the maximum 18-minute-per-mile pace. They will not start timing until the last person crosses the start line and will be with you throughout the race. If you cannot maintain an 18-minute mile pace, you will be required to board the support buses.

Please note: Due to safety restrictions on the course wheelchair participation is not permitted.

Course closings

For your safety and for the timely reopening of the streets to vehicular traffic, you must reach key locations by specified times or you will be required to take provided transportation. Partial lane closures will be utilized. Please stay inside the cones at all times (especially in the neighborhood section of the route at miles 9-12), and obey all public safety officers and course marshals.

PLEASE DO NOT START EARLY! Traffic and safety rules prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results.

Road closures
Because there will be runners sharing the roadway along this route, there will be temporary lane closures at the following locations:

  • Southbound US 41 from University Park to Gulfstream Avenue
  • Westbound University Parkway at US 41
  • Gulfstream Avenue/ John Ringling Blvd at US 41
  • Westbound Jon Ringling Blvd from US 41 to St. Armand’s Circle
  • Eastbound John Ringling Blvd from St. Armand’s Circle to Bayfront Drive
  • Southbound US 41 and Gulfstream Avenue (Beach traffic will be directed into one lane for Westbound turns.)
  • Northbound US 41 and Gulfstream Avenue (Only one lane for beach traffic, the second turn lane will be closed. Both Northbound US 41 lanes will remain open.)

Finish line

The course and finish line will be open for three hours and thirty minutes. All participants must maintain a pace no slower than 16 minutes per mile in order to be recorded as an official finisher (with time and place). Anyone not keeping up with the course cut off time will be asked to complete the course on the sidewalk due to the City of Sarasota traffic and permit requirements. Early starts are not allowed.

When you cross the finish line you will receive your finisher medal, water and take a celebratory picture. Then, you’ll exit finish line chute to our post-race festival where you will find delicious breakfast items as well as a live band presented by First Watch.

Weather

Mid March is Spring Break, which means incredible weather in beautiful Sarasota. For the past few years the race has started in the lows 60s and risen about 10 degrees without a single cloud in the sky. It’s the perfect weather for a run!
