Finish-Together Relay

First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon Finish-Together Relay Instructions
Both team members will be given a bib and will be asked to share a Chip that will be swapped at the 5.5 transition point.

Team member 1 (6 miles) should report to the start line.

Team member 2 (7 miles) should report to the relay exchange area on US 41 & 10th which is walking distance from the start of the race.
• Signage will indicate where #2 should be positioned.
• #2 will run the remaining 7.6 miles and have the opportunity for #1 to join them at the same transition location to finish together. (Participants will not need to swap tags again – as they will be finishing together)

You will be given a chip that goes around your ankle (and must be worn around your ankle for proper timing) and it will have a Velcro strap used to secure the chip in place.

100 yards prior to Relay Exchange you’ll see this sign. Please prepare early and stay to your right.

You and your partner will each have the same number. Be aware of what your bib number is as you approach the transition area and look up for the sign relating to your number as well as recognizing your teammate.

Participant #2 will be waiting in their area and will be the one to bend down and take the tag off of Participant #1’s ankle and apply it to their own ankle. Participant #1 should not have to bend down throughout this process. Once the chip is appropriately transferred Participant #2 is ready to continue on the course. Water will be available for Participant #1 at this point.

The Finish Together meet-up. Participant #1 should wait in the same area and join Participant #2. You do NOT need to exchange chips again. It is strongly recommended that you join up and Finish Together to ensure that you both receive your participant medal and have the opportunity to have your photo taken as you cross the finish line.
